Assignment ONE.
For assignment one, we're supposed to take photos with the following categories in mind--shape, line, form, texture, color.
Line.

I like diagonal lines.
I like the way they extend out.
Very dynamic. Hor?

From an alternative point of view--bottom-up--with some framing from the leaves.

I like this shot a lot.
I think it portrays "lines" from a very unique viewpoint. Combining the lines from the square tiles, and the lines on the road. Square tiles also provides for framing and they converge to show depth. The lines on the road are organized symmetrically yet are different, giving an asymmetrical feel.
Texture.

Texture is portrayed through the rough surface on the tree bark. I like how the tree bark bends and turns, offering a dynamic aspect to the photo.

A simpler take on texture. The tree bark extends diagonally, again. However the photo is overexposed. Shall retake the photo.
Form.

Simple simple over simplified take.

At first, my interpretation of form was any interesting structure. Hence this plant really appealed to me. I like the way it bends and curls inside.

When the group met up to take photos, it was after a rain, and there were droplets of rain left on the leaves. Think the light and shadow cast upon the water droplets helped to portray form.
That's all for assignment one for now. :)

Took more photos during the recess week.
All taken at the Bukit Timah Campus.
Here they are.
:)
Shape.

Don't like how the background is so distracting.

Color.

This plant has leaves that are pale green on the top-side, and bright red on the underside. So I shot the leaves from bottom-up, to showcase the bright red side of the leaves.
That's all. :)

hey, i like the photos, esp the one with the tiles and the road, just tat i feel tat the framing seems to dillute the subject, i wldnt have known its lines if u hadnt mentioned it. also noticed u mainly took with smthg like macro focus/near focus, maybe can experiment with the other way round, u may get some interesting shots. happy shooting!
